My Furby Needs Meds

imageI’m pretty sure my 8 year old daughter’s Furby has a major personality disorder that can only be cured by extensive psycho therapy and a lot of drugs. I think it might be a serial killer.

Zoe and my neighbor’s daughter were playing with the Furby when suddenly something went terribly wrong. The girls were shrieking as they ran towards me yelling “it’s possessed, make it stop!” The Furby was having what seemed to be an epileptic episode. He was shaking uncontrollably, his LCD lights were flashing like disco balls, and he was making indistinguishable scary noises. Maybe it was a heart attack? As it proceeded to go ape shit, I quickly got the screw driver. It was our only hope. Why, in the name of all things that are holy would you make a toy with no off button; why I tell you, WHY!

WTF happened? A few minutes ago it was a dumb ass valley girl, now it was going flippin crazy. I frantically tried to unscrew the battery cover, but my screw driver is a little to big, and I couldn’t catch the screws with all the shaking. I was able to loosen the screws just a little bit, but holding it upside down seemed to be make it go even crazier! As I clawed at the battery cover, I seriously contemplated throwing it out the fire escape. The thought of it exploding into smithereens was compelling, but the 50 bucks I had spent on it stopped me from doing so. Zoe got the idea of putting a pillow over it. Perhaps it would be tricked into falling asleep. We tried to suffocate it for several minutes but it wouldn’t die. Maybe if we fed it? Zoe took my iPad and started feeding it. Then things went from bad to worse. It started growling at us, and it’s eyes turned into flames! WTF!

I had to do something! I decided to do a quick search for “my Furby turned evil” and holy shit, so did a lot of other People! I was clearly not the only parent trying to kill an “evil Furby” personality. I read a few forums, and it seems that listening to music can sometimes trigger a personality change. Dance party it is! I you tubed some Justin Bieber (as per request) and by golly, after a few minutes, it said “me changing” and it started dancing as its LCD flames dissolved into heart shapes. OMG, what had I done! I don’t know what was worse; knowing that the Furby was capable of pure evil, or that I would have to listen to Justin Bieber every time it did? Let’s hope it won’t try to kill us in our sleep. God help us all…

Let me know what you think and leave a comment. See you soon…

This reminds me of when we were leaving the house the other day. I had the kids dressed and Little J was dragging her feet. I yelled from the bottom of the stairs for her to hurry. Suddenly her toy (completely untriggered) said “Bye-bye! See you soon!” I ran out like a bat out of hell. Freaky!

    • Hahaha. Toys today are so hi-tech they literally have minds of their own…or they possess lost souls trapped inside of them lol. Creepy!

  2. Nice blog here! Also your web site loads up very fast! What host are you using? Can I get your affiliate link to your host? I wish my web site loaded up as fast as yours lol

  3. We went through the same thing! The little shit keeps changing on us! One day he fell asleep and we all made a pact to never wake him again. Now he sits where we left him, on the kitchen counter. If the counter gets bumped we all gasp and hold our breath while he stirs, praying he goes back to sleep. It’s like living with a grenade that has the pin pulled out!

    • I know. That sucks that you’re living in fear of waking it up lol…it’s just crazy to me that anyone would think it would be a good idea to make such an annoying toy with out an off button…
