Lose weight…pffff

My New Years resolution is to lose weight. Here’s my problem. This is what happens to me almost everyday when I go to Rudy’s Bakery in Ridgewood Queens to buy my medium coffee with an espresso shot (they are the best bakery in town!)

“Psst…over here. Look at my fluffy marshmallow cream filling, and my butter filled oatmeal cookie sand which. Nono, don’t say such things. Stop thinking about that Zumba class you took last night. Don’t you love me? Shhh…no one will ever know. It can be our little secret. That’s it…take out the money and buy me… Then I’ll be all yours”. Curse you marshmallow oatmeal cookie, you’ve made me do it again! I must end this affair! I know it’s wrong but it feels so right.

Here’s what we’re going to do…I’ll increase my work outs and limit my eating you! It’s just soo hard! The messed up part of all this is that with 2 kids and a full time job, my pocket of time is so limited. My beloved cookies on the other hand are unlimited. You greet me every morning, with your overwhelming aroma of awesomeness! What to do…

You know what, fuck it. I love you oatmeal marshmallow cookie, and I can never leave you! EVER! You contribute to my curves that my fiancé loves so much; how can that be bad! Where would my womanly curves be without you? Oh oatmeal marshmallow cookie, I was being silly! I declare my love for you, for all of cyberspace to read. I’ll work you off tonight while doing baby lunges in my living room. But don’t you worry…I’ll be back tomorrow and I don’t care who knows it!

  1. Mind over matter my dear. Here’s how I do it: I think of how utterly disappointed I feel once I zip up my sexy jeans and I have muffin top. THAT feeling keeps me away from the sweets that give you only temporary satisfaction. But your health? Now that’s long-term investment and satisfaction that even your kids and their kids will enjoy (since you’ll be around longer and healthier and more active enough to keep up). Good luck and step away from the cookie/fried anything/white bread/etc.

    • Long term is very important which is why I do Zumba! It’s a struggle everyday, but I’ll end my love affair with food so I can one day see my little munchkins all grown up with kids of their own. It’s just going to be one cookie at a time…That’s the way it’s gotta be :0)

  2. P.S. Mind you: I didn’t say “step away from the burger/pizza/alcoholic drinks”… Ha! because in moderation and at the right time of day (yes, the right time of day) you can have a slice of pizza or a burger and feel good about having it.

I too have fallen victim to the oatmeal marshmellow cookie. I think I nicknamed it “A little drop of Heaven in Ridgewood.” Thanks for introducing me to this!
